LABOR TROUBLES.
THE ONE-SIDED STATEMENTS.
[(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night,
Tho secretary of the Motal "Workers Union writes that the explanation of Messrs A. and T. Burt, as to tho dismissal of tho men is ono-sidod. As secretary he had occasion to apply to tho Chairman of the Conciliation Board for a decision on certain points. men gave evidence in favor of tho contention of the union, and withiri two months of tho decision of the Chairman the four men were dismissed. The secretary contends that tho plea now put forward for the dismissal of two of the men, namely, for discipline, is an afterthought. Aa to tho case being sub judioe, tho secretary states that action was taken, but by some unaccountable moans the case was miesed at tho last sitting of the Court, and so far as the Union is oonoerned will not be proceeded with, as tho evidenoe neoeesary to prove the case is not now available.
