A FIRE.
[Early this morning o storehouse adjacent to Mr Cyril White’s reßidenoe in Herbert street was destroyed by fire. The building had been erected, a short time ago for the purposo of storing the goods saved from the Wairakaia fire, and latter by had been used by Mr White for storing fodder. An unsuccessful search was then made of the Boyal Hotel block, where the smell of fire wb.s very strong. They had returned to Messrs Primrose and Leslie’s corner when the glare of fire was observed. Mr Sawyer had continued up the road and reached home without observing anything further to attract his attention until the nightwatchman rang the lower bell. Mr Sawyer then cycled down and rang the Garnavon-street bell. Several members of the fire brigade attended the fire, and gave what assist- j anoe they oould,
