The annual communication of tha Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand was opened at Palmerston North to-dav, I when Masons representing 125 lodges I were present from all parts of the colony. I The Grand Master, Bro. A. H. Burton, I was in the chair. At the afternoon sitting the annual y

statement of acoounts showed the cash balances of the several funds to be as follows : General fund £1492, fund of benevolence £1952, widows, orphans, and aged Masons fund £5037, representation fund | £266 ; total £8759. In consideration of .the report of the Board of General Purposes, disoussion arose on the recognition of the new Grand Lodge of Queensland. It was unanimously decided to give the recognition as proposed. , , , ' " ; The proposed amendments to the constitution were partly considered. The principal point dealt with was the proposal to raise the minimum initiation fee, whioh was negatived. “ ' ' ' '
