Captain W. Bennie, late of the schooner
Falcon, has been appointed to command the yacht Piivateor to take her to Sydney, where she will be handed over to the Methodist South Seas Mission, for use among the islands. Mr T. Clarkson, a member of the Canterbury Times staff, well known in cycling circles, has definitely decided to be a candidate for the Avon seat at the next general eleotion. The rules and regulations of the New Zealand International Exhibition, attached to the notice just issued regarding the exhibition, state that the exhibition is to bo open to the public from November Ist, 1906, to the first Thursday in Easter vyeek in the following year (April, 1907). All exhibits are to be in tho building, and every arrangement completed, by 10 p.m. on October 28th, 1906, and the exhibits are to be removed by April 30tb, 1907. No application for space will be considered if received later than March 31st, 1906, but the latest date for receiving applica-
tions may be determined earlier if ihe number of applications promises to exceed the aoosrqiuodation provided. The ordinary charge for sp'ape w}U he frpm 2a per square foot, the rqinimum charge being £1 Is, 26 per cent payable on application, 25 per cent on allotment, aDd the balance one month before the opening of the ej;hi- J biiion.
