ONE-SIDED STATEMENT.

(Pet Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. A. and T. Butt, Ltd., have written to the Premier with reference to a statement made by a deputation from the Trades and Labor Councils’ Conference that two of their men were dismissed for the prominent part they had taken in union affairs. Messrs Burt state the men were dismissed solely for breaches of discipline, and that the Inspector of Factories at the time was invited to make the fullest investigation, The men reported the matter to their union, who tool? proceedings, and the case is partly heard, Messrs Burt express sur prise that the Premier should be made a medium to circulate a one-sided statement of a case which is sub judicc.
