LONDON WOOL’ SALES.

By; Electric Telegraph—Per Press Association—Copyright. London, May 8. At the wool sales there is general com petition. Low crossbreds are dearer.

” The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., are in receipt of the following cablegram, dated London, Bth May :—Sales gain in firmness as they progress. -As compared with last sales closing rates are 7+to 10 per cent higher for - greasy merino super and crossbred slipe, 10 per oent~ higher for coarse crossbred, and 10 per cent to 15 per cent higher for medium greasy crossbred. The American demand has inoreased, exceptionally high rates being paid for wool suitable for their requirements.
