In the Divorce Court, Yates v. Yates was the wife’s petition. The parties were married at South Dunedin and lived together for seven yoars, two children being born. Respondent, after living on his wife's earnings for Bometime, misconducted himself with a young woman, and subsequently was found livingjwith the woman Lily Shee in Hastings. This woman bore a child to him. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute in three months. In a discussion about making an order against the husband for maintenance, Mr Justice Williams said shere was probably an order in existence at the suit of the other woman. If not,jthero ought to be. Of course, the wife had prior claim, but if the other woman already had an order he did not know if the wife's moral claim could come in. His Honor decided that maintenance must be applied for by separate commission.

I At the Police Court George Edwards, fruiterer and seedsman, was fined os and costs for not observing Wednesday as a half-holiday. An application for an order of dissolution of the Colonial Bank was before Judgo Williams this morning. It was opposed by the Shareholders’ Committee on the ground that they were going to petition Parliament for an enquiry. After argument the Judgo made an order diseolving the Bank from this date, the books, etc., to be retained for six months and then destroyed, except as otherwise ordered by the Court.

In the Divorce Court in McKinlay v. McKinlay, wife’s petition, a Palmerston oase, a decree nisi was granted. The application was unopposed. The. Directors of the National Insurance Company have declared an interim dividend of nineponoe per share for the half year. The Dunediu Jockey Club has appointed the Hon. G. McLean and S. Solomon as delegates to the raoing conference.
