By Telegraph—Press Asaooiation—Copyright London, April 28. A British steamor passed two squadrons of seven and eight ships on Thursday night, sixty miles south of Penang. They are supposod to bo Admiral Diobogatoff’s squadron and an escort sent by Admiral Bosdostvonsky. The' latter captured the British stoamor Beatrice, bound from Saigon to Japan. Fivo Chinese cruisers and four torpedoors are watching the interned Bussian warships at Shanghai.

INTENDED DABH FOB VLADIVOSTOCK. JAPANESE CASUALTIES. By Telegraph—Presß Association—Copyright Beceived 4.16 p.m., April 29. London, April 29. A merchantman, which has arrived at Shanghai, reports that an important division of Admiral Togo's fleet is at Thushima, Islands.
Admiral Boshdeslvensky’s squadron, including 25 warships, tugs for battleships, repairing ship, water supply ship, and a number of oolliers, quitted Kamranh with six months’ provisions. It is expocted that they will junction with Admiral Diebogatoff and steer for the Pacific en route to Vladivostok, after sending back the transports and oolliers. There are six Bussian colliers at Batavia. Frenoh St. Petersburg advices state that an engineer from Madagascar reports that Admiral Boshdestvensky, besides repairing the boilers while there, engaged Greek, German, .Italian, British, Argentine, and Chilian ex-officers and petty officers to train the crews.
Tho British warships Amphitrite, Sutlez, and Iphegenin are patrolling outside Singapore. Bussian advices state that Marshal Oyama commands 600,000 effective troops. The Japanese are releasing 700 sailors captured at Port Arthur.
Tokio, April 29. Okuna, addressing the Progressive Parties, commended the care of the wounded. He said tho total wounded and sick during the war was a quarter of a million, and there were killed or died from disease 50,000.
They must expeot prolongation of the struggle, but he hoped it would not affect national sentiment.
