INVERCARGILL ASSAULTS.

RIDICULOUS SENTENCES. (Fee Press Association.); Invercargill, last night. Farther charges against three men, in connection with the outrages on Good Friday, were before the Police Court today. For assaults on two married women on tho street Rodgers, and Prentice were sent .to gaol for four months. Finnerty was acquitted, his part in the affair being the spreading of his arms across the path at some distance from complainant. For assaulting Mrs O’Shannessy in her house Rodgers got six months, concurrent with the previous sentence. On a charge of destroying the jwoman’s property to the value of £5 he was committed to the Supremo Court for trial. Tho prisoners were tho subject of popular indignation, being hooted and-hissed as they left the' ' Court for the gaol. 3
