Nelson, laßt night. The adopted child of Denis Frost, of Wakapuaka road, aged six, was riding alongside Close’s timber waggon to-day, and fell under the wheels. His limbs were mutilated, both legs and an arm being broken, and interna!, injuries reoeived. One leg was amputated. His condition is critical. . -
Wellington, last night. At the Trades Councils’ Conference.today a motion was carried in favor of a State note issue,' and the completion of tho Main Truok and other important'railway works. A motion in favor of statutory preference to unionists was carried unanimously.
