I Napier, last night. I The Kaiti-City Football Club played a [ matoh against the Scinde Club on the I Btortford Lodge ground to-day. A numI ber of Poverty Bay visitors were present jto witnoss the game. Tbo play throughI out was of a very even character, Haiti I being perhaps rather better in the back I division, while the Scinde forwards showed to greater advantgae generally than did their opponents. In the first spell Haiti, ! playing with the wind and sun behind them, made good use of their opportunities, and pressed Scinde hard, the score at the end of the spell being Haiti sis points, Scinde five po'mts. In the second spell, however, Scindo forced the play, and for a long time had their opponents in difficulties. Force-downs succeeded each

other with great rapidity. Hawkos Bay gained two more tries in this spell, increasing their score to 11 points, but Haiti rallied, and Puflett by a magnificent run from the half-way line scored a try, which was oonvorted. The game thus ended in a draw, each side scoring 11 points. For the visitors LeLauoese, Eri-

kana, Witty and Puflett in the back division, and McCarthy amongst the forwards, all played a capital game. Of the Hawke’s Bay forwards Mahoney, Peterson, Falvey, Lang and Smith all played really well, while Wilson, Humphreys, McKay, Bussell and Nelson played a good back game.

I Christchurch, last night, I The annual football match between I Sydenham and Dunedin was pfayed at I Sydenham Park on Saturday afternoon, I The weather was dull and threatening. The ground was heavy. Sydenham won by 13 points (two goals and a try) to 5 (one goal). The annual match between ! Christohurch and Wellington clubs was also played in the afternoon. Chrißtohurcb won by 27 points to nil. Nelson, last night. In the Association football matoh, Swifss (Wellington) versus Wanderers (NelBon) the visitors won by two goals ,to one.
