I ’(Pen Press Association.)' Christchurch, last night. At the Addington yards to-day there wbb I a large entry of all classes of stock, and a good attendance. Beef wa3 easier in con--1 sequence of the large supply. Store I sheep, especially ewes, were lower in price, and the fat iamb market Wa3 dull, and the I sales effected wepe at lower rates. Fat sheep sold well at the opening sale, but afterwards prices declined. Store oattle I were in poor demand, and the only classos j I of stock that maintained their value wm-e j fat pigs and dairy cows. Store sheep—The entry of 15,000 to I to 18,000, including a number of lines from I I the Chatham Islands, was marked by a I falling off in the demand for all olasses, I especially eweß, which were several shill- I ! ings cheaper than a few weeks ago. The range of prices was ; Wethers 15s’ to 21e Id, ewes 13? 4d to 19s, iambs 13s 93 to 15s 6d. Fat lambs—There was a large yarding and prices were easier, ranging as follows : Tegs 18s 9d to 20s 3d, standard lamb weights 17s tj 18s 6d, and others 15a to 16s 9d.
Fat sheep—The pens were well filled and the sale opened at rates previously ruling, but slackened off as butchers filled their requirements, export buyers not operating tp any extent. The prices showed a decline.' Prfrno wethers brought 22s to 24s lid, others 20s to 21s £)d, prime heavy ewes 21s to 23s 9d, medium 17s 6d to 20s, aged 15s to 17s, merino wethers 16s lOd to 17s 7d.
Fat cattle.—There were 249 head penned, a large proportion being of medium quality. Bidding was alack, and prices showed a decline. Steers made jE6 5s to .29, heifers £5 5a to JEB 2s 6d, and cows £4 15a to £7 os, equal to 15s to 20s, and extra prime to 21s per lOOlbs. A good yarding of veal calves sold at 7s 6d to £‘2 Bs, according to size and quality. Stores and dairy cattle—A small yarding I met with a dull sale. Yearlings made to 30s, 15 18 months 35s to 42s 6d, 2-year-old steers d 63 ss, 2 year-old heifers £2 ss, 3-year-old steers £5 Is, 3-year-old heifers £4 10s, dry cows 30s to £3 19s, dairy cows *24 I.os Jo £9 10s. Figs—There was a fairly large yarding, especially of sjprep, and including aeonsignment of fats and stores from the Chctbam Islands. There were some very prime lots of local baconers and porkers offered, and prices were about the same as last week for both fats and stores. The
Chatham Islands pigs sold up to 47s for baconers, and up to 40s far large stores.
Baconers made 42a to 475, and heavier 48a I to 60s, equal to 41d for medium | pea lb for heavy weights ; porkers 28s to j 375, equal to fid per lb ; large stores 22s 6d-, t0.32s 63, median) 16s to 225, and weaneW 83 to 16s,
