tWAIPIRO BAY a

[From Qur Own Correspondent.)

Our township is gradually assuming quite an important aspect. New buildings are being erected, and other buildings being shifted and improved to an extent that angurs well for the future of Waipiro, and places it in a prominent position among the eoastal townships. The proposed hospital at Te Puia Springs is fast becoming an accomplished fact, the scow Ngaro being at present in the bay unloading the first consignment of timber, about 30,000 ft, As there will bo somewhere about 80,000 or 90,000 feet of timber required, it will necessitate two more trips for tho scow before the work of erection is atarted.

The bay presented quite a busy appearance on Friday, no less than four boats unloading in the one day—the Haupir Aotea, Waiapu, and Ngaro. l It is nearly time tbe Government gave the East Coast a lift by placing the Te Puia Springs on their advertised list, and fulfilling their promise of long ago ro the expenditure of a certain amount for laying out tbe grounds, etc. Probably we have yet to learn that the Goverumsnt clock goes Blower than we anticipated.
