•In another column the special services v to bo held during this week at Trinity Church are published. Special attention is drawn to tho service to bo held, at 7.30 this eveniog, when Dr Stainer’s “ Crucifixion” music will be sung by tho Trinity -i----choir. It is some years now since Gisborne people have been privileged to hear this very beautiful music, and a large congregation will doubtless assemble. Th'e s music contains some very difficult but most ‘ . beautiful choral items, as well a 3 solos and ! chorales. Many lovers of Stainer’s works regard this music as among his jbest compositions, and the announcement of its ~ being sung in tbe cathedraL and parash ' churches in England never failß to ?raw very large congregations. In the advertisement the vicar of Holy Trinity issues an invitation to tho people of Gisborne to attend and hear the “ Crucifixion ” this evening.
