STOCK SALES,
At the sale of Watene Winiata’s stock held by Mr J. S. Buckland last week there was not a large attendance of the public, though several buyers of horses were present, and were not suited, that class of stock not being well represented. The only draught animal sold was an aged mare at £32. Strong station hacks £8 to to £9, and a light mare and foal £4 ss. Some quiet well-bred cattle sold freely. Yearling steers £2 las, eighteen month old steers £3 7s 6d, dairy cows £5 17s 6d and £6 10s, fat steers £6 19s. A line of old ewes were passed in at the auction, bat afterwards sold at 6s Bd, and some aged Lincoln rams 12s each. The next regular stook sale will be held in Poyzer’s yards on Saturday, 29th April.
