MORRIN’S ESTATE

Auckland, last night. To-day the Wellington Park Estate, formerly tho property of Mr Thomas Morrin, was sold by auction by order of the registrar of the Supreme Court at the request of the mortgagee. The estate is situated atPanmureandhasfor many years past been used as a breeding establishment for thoroughbred horses, and iB at present occupied by the Wellington Park Stud Company, Ltd. It comprises about 266 acres of land, on portions of which stand the homestead and several outbuildings, the total valuation by the Government Lands Valuation Department being close on £20,000. The. building are insured to the extent of £4500, and are valued at close on £6OOO- The first and only bid reoeived was £8550, at which figure the estate was knocked down, the purchasers being Messrs E. M. Coleman and J. Owen. The estate was purchased purely as a speculation, and to what use it will be put in future is not yet known.
