WILLIAM ANDERSON'S DRAMATIC CO.

“ A SAILOR’S SWEETHEART.”

Gisborne has always been renowned fox its liberal support of first-class touring companies, and we have no doubt that this reputation will be kept up, and that a record house will greet Mr William Anderson’s Dramatic Company at His Majesty’s Theatre, when they produce one of the greatest dramatic successes of the day, “ A Sailor’s Sweetheart.” The Company introduced by Mr Anderson to-night is an exceptionally strong one, and we are assured that each piece will be staged in a very complete manner. The scenery, dressing, and properties are all new, and something quite out of the ordinary. Tomorrow the Company produce one of the world’s greatest “ The Face at the Window,” a play in the Anderson Company has made a groat name throughout Australia. The Sydney Telegraph says : “ The Face at the Window” is certainly the strongest and most absorbing drama that has been presented to a Sydney audience within recent memory. It is smooth in action, telling in dialogue, sensational in its incidents and situations, and of such thrilling interest that it holds the spectator from commencement to close. Where it is colloquial it is sharp, crisp and incisive ; where it is declamatory, its diction is graceful, forcible and dignified, rising to true tragic force as its intensity demands.
