r (Per Press Association.) I _ Christchurch, last night, I .Frederick Wm. Dennett was charged at I the Police Court to-day with having | broken into the Amberley railway station on the 9th inst. On the application of the I police a remand was granted until TuesI day. Bail was allowed in two sureties of I dllOO each. j Margaret Wiokham died at the hospital i I to-day whilst an anesthetic was being adj ministered prior to an operation. I At the Supreme Court the following I sentences were passed on prisoners who I I pleaded guilty in tne Lower Court: James I | Madder, five charges of breaking, entering I and theft, four years, one on each charge I to be concurrent; John George Austin, theft, twelve months’ imprisonment; Mark I ! Cossal, secretion of postal packets and I opening postal packets, twelve months’ | imprisonment, to be concurrent with a I sentence he is at present serving: K, A. I Glover,- two false declarations when registering births of his illegitimate children, ' sis months’ imprisonment. 1
