NOXIOUS WEEDS

j(To the Editor .Gisborne .Times.;

Sir, —Wa hear a great deal from time to time about Californian thistle, ragwort and other noxious weeds, and the , absolute .necessity for their destruction, yet no one has ventured to give a description of these for the benefit of the uninitiated. There are many farmers and laud owners who are anxious to eradicate these weeds and who may have them growing on their land and not awaro of it. If some of your subscribers who are acquainted with the Californian thistle and ragwort would favor us with a description they would be conferring a great benefit on the individual and the mas 3. One might be forever forwardiDg various weeds to a Government officer for inspection and novor have the misfortune to come across either of tho abovo. —I am, etc., Uninitiated.
