THE CIVIL SERVICE
.SUPERANNUATION SCHEME. (Pei- Press -Association. 1 ) - Wellington, last night. As an, outcome of reoent • meetings, members of the Civil Service in all parts of the colony are being circularised on the subject of a superannuation scheme for the whole service, for submission to tho Premier. The circular, which was drafted by a sub committee, etates-that the time appears to be opportuuo to press the whole subject upon the attention of tho Government. “The present position is not only complex' and uneven in the highest degroo, but no place is found for those officers (very considerable in number, and whom we desire to reach) who, though holding status only as temporary officers, have nevertheless in many cases given a great part of their lives to the Government service.” The circular also. expresses the . hope that every member of the Civil Service will support and take, an active interest in a proposal to make.united representation to the Government of the needs and hopes of the’service in this important matter.
