Fine weather was again experienced for the Beefton races, but the attendance was not so large, owing to the miners not having a holiday. The fields for the various events were more numerous than on the first day, aud the racing was good. The results were : Telegraph Handicap—Pantaloon 1, Contingent 2, Siandra 3. TRAINING NOTES.

(Per Presa Association.) Christchurch, last Dight. The approaoh of ;the Easter meeting has stimulated interest in track work, and trainers are pushing their ohargos along. This morning the Ohokobore team, who were first out, were given light work. Stronghold is looking particularly well. Tirole went once round on the plough at a good working gallop. Sea Eion, Melinda and Nahangarei were given light work. Aftor breakiost Royal Crown was given two rounds. Bagpipes ran twice round at half-speed. Calibre sprinted four furlongs in 50 2-sseee. Secret Society, assisted by Thistschar, ran five furlongs in 1.7 J-. Pensive easily defeated Governor Mango I over half a mile in 52i-. Mohican and Guesser wore schooled over hurdles, both shaping well. Slow Tom, who is very well, was given a sprinting tcsk. Half to steady pacing was done by Tupara, Konga, Wet Blanket, Prince Boris, Ability, Beeuda, Quiekfire, Grand .Popular, Manjess, Glenowlb., Gay Spark, Bonnie Brae, Euclid, Fineand. Alumini, Cold, Antigone, Te Taiaha, Eurus, Claochattan.
