OPENING CEREMONY. - SEVERAL MINISTERS TO ATTEND PROPOSED VISIT TO MOTU. A meeting of the East Coast Railway ; League was held yesterday morning in the Borough Council Chambers, the President, Mr J. Townley, presiding. There were ialso present Messrs C. A. DeLautour, J. ■ W. Bright, C. Gray, W. PoMie, J. East, A. F. Kennedy, J. W. Whinray, W. B. Com- : man, W. L. Rees, W. Webb, and W. Gaudin (secretary). -Final arrangements in connection with the opening of the line to Te Karaka on Thursday next were made, the following being the programme agreed to:— g. 8 to 11—Trains to leave Gisborne for TTe Karaka, return faro Is 6d, and each providing accommodation for 1200 passsn-

gers. 4 jttSO—Committee to meet Ministers Vend take them to railway station. Noon —Opening ceremony at TeKaraka, Addresses by His Worship the Mayor and ' Captain Tucker, and replies by the visiting JSiinisters. -< 1 p.m.—Xinneheon for visitors andmem"bers of local bodies. 2 p.m. —Visitors driven to Mr W. Hutobinson’s, Waikohn, for afternoon tea, to To Haraka at 5 o’clock. 8 p.m.—Public meeting, arrangements for which were referred to a committee consisting of Mr Bright (representing the Chamber of Commerce), Captain Tucker

-(County Council), His Worship the Mayor Borough Council), and Messrs DeLautour and Rees. The question of finance was left to Mr J. W. Bright and the secretary. The secretary suggested that as the L-piaiting Ministers would bo remaining in * Gisborne until the Sunday, they should be taken to the Motu. Mr J. W.
