SHEEP DOG TRIALS
The Poverty Bay Sheep Dog Trial Club concluded its eleventh annnal meeting at Ormond on Saturday last, when Class 111 was taken : Head, bring back and yard. The work in this class, as in the two preceding classes, was distinctly good.. The first prize was won by E. O. Stewart’s Jade, with full points, 30. . Jade was the winner of Class I, with 27 points. L. McKinnon’s Wag and E. W. Bonsfield’s Quick tied for second place, with 29£ points. L. McKinqsn’s Don was next with 29J points, and E. Tait’s Fly fifth 29 points, A. Wright’s Skipper secured the sixth prize with 28£ points.
Others that did excellent work wore J. Hyde’s Spring 28, O. Evans’ Sprint 28, K. Bartlett’s Bob 27i.
Messrs E. Johnson and Co.’s prizo for the best looking dog scoring over 15 points was won by H. J. Kent’s Fly. Messrs Shierlaw and Co’s special prize for noisiest huntaway dog scoring bver 16 points was won by D. Cameron’s Clyde. Mr W. Morgan’s trophy for dog under the beat command fell to K. McDonald’s Darkie.'
