Tho State Schools Defenco League will submit the following questions to Parliamentary candidates :—Aro you in favor of maintaining tho present free, compulsory and secular education under the Act of 1877? Will you oppose an alteration in tho secular character or tbe

system, either by Parlisment or referendum ? 3. Will you opposo any attempt to take a referendum on any proposal that' wou'd violate tho rights of conscience of tho minority in matters of religion, and on any text book that has not been circulated amongst the eleoiors ?
