Fairbairn. town clerk, owing to the state of his health.- It "was decided •to. give . him. two years’ leave ot absence on full pay.. The "body of the man killed on the Port Chalmers railway on Tuesday evening has not been identified. At the inquest a verdict was returned that deceased met his "death through being struck by tbe engine.
