ANOTHER SCHOOL DESTROYED

Two firos occurred last night, the first iu Borman’s hairdressing and tobaooomst shop, Lambton Quay, whore a good deal of damage was dono by firo and wntor. While engaged at this firo the brigade were sumtnonod to Newtown, where the I Nintoul street public sohool, which accommodated 670 pupils, was on fire. The sohool nut! its fit-tinge wore totally destroyed, and tho less must run into some thousands. As far as is kuown no one but cleaners had boon in tho sohool since Friday night. Tho firo at Xianksber’s and other premises on Xjambton Quay was covered by insurance in nil oases except that of tho Chinese fruiterer. Lanksher’s stocky was . insured for £SOO in the South British, £IBSO in tho Alliauco, £9OO iu tho Yorkshire, and £250 in tho Northern. The [ damage is estimated at £2OO or £3OO. Lanksher’s building was ownod by Burne s estate, and insured for £SOO in the Norwich Union. Tho other buildings owned by jD. J'.K Hyde wore insured for £450 in the Victoria uud £3OO in the Commercial Union. Berman, tobacoonist, stock was insured for £650. Except at Lanksher s damage was very slight. The Borhampore school was uninsured, but there was a small policy on the piano and library.
