AUCKLAND TRAMS.
COLLISION WITH BUS—A STRONG VERDICT.
(Per Press Association. 1 ). Auckland, last night. The inquest concerning the recent collision between a bus and tram concluded
to-day, the jury returning tho following verdict:—“ Mrs Fostor met her death
I through injuries received in a collision beI tween tram and bus, the former going at such a rate of speed that the motorman was unable to stop the car in time to avert an acoidant, The bus driver should have taken more precautions before crossing the line.” A rider was added to. the effect that the bye-laws relating to vehicular traffic should be enforced on the trams, that motocmen should pass an examination other than that by the company’s officers, that someone be appointed by the Council to sec that tho speed did not endanger the lives of tho public, that a Royal Commission be set np to enquire into tho entire working of the "tramway system.
