{ (Per Press Association.) I / Wellington, last night. I The semi-final for the Seville Cup wae 1 played to-day between Monawatu and I Hawke’s Bay A teams. It was a splondid (•game, the olosest that has been seen up to I the present in the tournament. Both J teams wore very well mounted. The soore j —Manawatu 10, Hawke's Bay 6 hardly | indicates the merits of the teams. They | were in reality very evenly matohed. ( Shortly after the commencement of play, Abraham (1) and A. Strang (2) obtained goals for Manawatu in quiok succession I Abraham soored a goal in the seoond spell, daring whioh Mackenzie, of Hawke’s Bay, was stunned, his place boing takon by bis brother. In the third spell Nelson soored for Hawke’s Boy, after good play by Ormond and Russell. Ormond soored just , after the opening of the fourth spell- A. Strang followed up with a goal for Manawatu, and W. Strang quiokly registered I another. There was then a great rally,

and from the melee the Hawke’s Bay fallback,, in trying to save, put the ball through his own goal posts, making Manawatu’s soore soveD. In the last spell Mackenzie, Nelson, and Russell scored for Hawke’s Bay, and Strang brothers and Abraham for Manawatu. lit the Handioap Cup Wellington B defeated Hawke’s Bay B by 19 to 17.
