MAORI CONFERENCE.

I REMARKS BY PBEMIEB. . I (Per Press Association.) I Auckland, last night. I Mr Seddou while at Botorua visited the I Maori Conference which is holding its BitI tings, and was received very heartily. He announced a new and progressive Native Land policy, by which the natives who have no land could become tho possessors of some through the Government enabling them to get it on a long time payment system. He urged the individualisation of land among the Maoris, and from the surplus land they would receive rents whioh would not be placed to the credit of the public funds, but would be handed to the native owners. The scheme was received with great applause, and as Mr Seddon left the meeting he was loudly cheered.
