TECHNICAL GLASSES.
The committee for the Technical I Classes, met last/ evening, there being present Messrs \V. Morgan, (chairman), Bright, File, Graham, Brown, Coleman, Humpnroys, I Somervell, and Church. The 'i reasarcr (Mr J. Coleman) read the balance-sheet, which was as follows /^Receipts:. Credit balI ance from last quarter £9 9s Bd, grant from Government £l9 12s Sd, fees £6l 12s 6,d, money lent by evening classes committee £lO. total £IOO 14s lOd. Expenditure : ‘ In-
structors' salaries £75 7s, lighting [ and heating £6, 11s Id, caretaker, cleaning, etc. £6 3s 6d, balance in hand- £l2 13s. ;3d. There were a few, outstanding accounts, but the capitation for the second quarter would cover them.:
The Chairman’s report thowad- that (the attendances during the quarter I had not been good, some of the classes not obtaining capitation. Mr Morgan agreed -t-a act as Chairman I until the householders’ meeting next month. Correspondence in connection .with the classes was read- from /the masters of the Mangapapa, PaItutahi, and Matawhero- schools.. The Chairman’s arrangements re instruction for .woodwork classes were approved. It was decided to continue the sho;CthanQ A pa.gMqßj, amt hoolo-keeping classes for. 'anotherquarter.
Mr Brown agreed . to- continue the duties of secretary until the householders’ meeting, but- not thereafter —he did not intend to - accept nomination on the incoming committee. The rate of overtime to he paid to Miss Ivey, cookery instructor, was, feed at the customary shm for the (work." . - ’ ’- • :
