TIMARU NEWS.
A LAWSUIT. Per Press 'Association. Tiniaru, last night. Judge Haselden, in the District Court, with a jury of four, occupied two long days over a suit for damages, the owner of a farm on Rangitata Island claiming £97 from tho late lessee for breaohes of covenant to keep fences and buildings in repair and not to remove buildings, eto. Evidence was given in detail as to the work required to put the fences and buildings in repair. The claims for removals were struck out, leaving £45 for failure to repair. The jury found for plaintiff, and awardod £25, Co3ts following the verdict.
RETURN OF FIRE BRIGADE. The Timaru Fire Brigade team returned from the Dunedin competition last night. They were given a cordial reception at the railway station, and wero congratulated by the Mayor.
