WHITEHOUSE’S BIOSCOPE.
On Tuesday night the Whitehouse Bioscope and Variety Company make their first appearance in Gisborne for a two nights’ season only. The proprietor, Mr A. H. Whitehouse, is the pioneer of nearly all phonograph, kinetoscopo, and bioscope exhibitions in New Zealand, having been continuously travelling for over ten years in this colony with the exception of short periods occupied in visiting the United States and England for ths purpose of personally colleoting the latest and most up-to:date apparatus. Spectacular representations of the bombardment of the Port Arthur forts, firing of mines,'and submarines exploding, supply a realistic and thrilling idea of scenes in the Fur East. The programme a!so comprises a specially fine collection of circus acts, panoramic views, trick and comic scenes. Kershaw, the illusionist, is an added attraction. He performs sleight of hand and conjuring feats in a manner which delights the audience, and gives further variety to an entertainment which is full of vim and in which a contemporary says there are “no weary waits.” Attention is drawn to tho rates.for children, who are admitted to all parts of the theatre for 6d.
