Tho sale of £3OO by tender, after brisk bidding, brought £37 j per £IOO for the first £2OO, the remaining £IOO being taken up at £2l. Mr li. T. Symes, Chairman of Directors, presided. A general meeting of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union (Gisborne Branch) will be held in the P.B. Farmers’ Union Club room, Masonic buildings, at 2 o’clock on Saturday afternoon. Tho business is to receive sub committee’s report re preventing the spread of ragwort and Californian thistle in the district, and to consider a letter from the carters of the district, asking the farmers’ co-operation to obtain a relaxation of tho existing bylaw affeoting the width of tyres used ;'and genera'
