I Robert Duncan, surfaceman, said he had been informed that deceased asked for [ assistance on Saturday, bnt was told it could not bo spared. He was also told deceased asked for assistance on Monday, but was refused. A ganger bad denied such was the case. Tbe jury returned a verdict that deceased met bis doath by being accidentally crushed, and added a I rider that it was the duty of tbe Railway I Department to have scon that deceased I bad some assistance, knowing that the j work was dangerous for one man. .
