DRIVING WITHOUT LIGHTS,

[To the Editor .Gisborne Time.j

I Sir, —I notice that the police have been I active in regard to breaches of the Borough I by-laws in driving round corners at other I than a walking pace, and that several I oSenders have been fined for this offence. To my mind a more dangerous practice is [ that of driving without lights, and I hope that the police will see that this bye-law also is strictly enforced. Recently I have had several narrow escapes whilst driving into town, and on several occasions I between Makaraka and Gisborne have mot I as many as six vehicles without lights, 11 am, eto., •
