SUPPRESSION OF SO-CALLED “ TRUTH.” (Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. Xfi is likely that police prosecutions to prohibit the sale of Sydney Truth will be instituted throughout New Zoaland during this month. Ab a result of investigations made by the Wellington police an information was laid against a local newsagent that he “ Did sell printed matter, to wit, the newspaper known as Sydney Truth, which said printed matter, as to parts thereof, was of an indecent, immoral, and obscene nature.” The case was called on at the Magistrate’s Court, when Mr Myers appeared for the prosecution. An application to have the case remanded for two weeks was made by the defendant, George Ewart. Counsel intimated that the proprietor of the' newspaper, Mr Norton, was anxious to be present at the hearing of the case. A remand was granted to the 10th instant.
