Burgess of Methveu and another woman wore driving into Methven from the hills in a trap, Mrs Burgess’ husband rode up and fired at his wife with a revolver, hitting her in tbe forehead. He abo fired at the other woman, but missed, and rode away. Mrs Burgess received medical attention and was brought into the Ashburton hospital. She is now in a precarious condition. Wm. Burgess, her husband,a man about 30, was afterwards found drowned in a waterhole.
