SHIPPING CASUALTIES
AN UNLUCKY BARQUE,
(Per Press- Association.) Auckland, last night,
The barque Kineclane, which was stranded at Kaipara some months ago, and re-floated on Saturday, was"driven ashore to-day and became a total wreck.. Invercargill, last night.
Anxiety is felt at the Bluff for the safety of the ketch Kekano, which left on January 17 for the West Coast on a fishing ernise, She should have returned eight weeks ago, but nothing has been heard of her. Several boats which left tho Bluff after tbe Kekano returned from the West Coast without seeing the missing craft. She carried a crew of eight.
Later. —It transpires that the ketoh Kekano, reported overdue at Bluff, was seen in Chalky Inlet on the 22nd nit., when she was leaving for Thomson Sound next day. She was seen by tho Moeraki on the 12th inst. in the latter Sound. There was no one on board, and it was presumed the crew were away fishing. No anxiety is felt by those most interested, Tbe oraft was many years ago a training vessel at Auckland,
