Mr D. Kemp, who has been transferred to Wellington, from the local ■Post and .Telegraph Office, left by, the .Talune last evening, accompanied by, his .wife and family. The Rev a Canon Eccles "arrived by, I .tbe .Tqlune last evening, and will make a short stay, in Gisborne. Mr E. F. l,vessan, of the Bank of Australasia, has been transferred to 'Dunedin, .and went. South by. the s.s. Talune last evening. We are glad to record that Mr FerI gus G. Dunlop, who matriculated at {the Gisborne High. "School, and has for the last two years been the holder of a scholarship at St. John’s College, Auckland, has passed the final section of the B.A, degree, and •the first .section of the L;L.B. lie has now, resigned his scholarship; and accepted an appointment as' assistant master at Prince Albert College, 'Auckland, whore he is pursuing his studies in, arts and Mr Dunlop, is to be congratulated upon these successful results, .which are the more creditable, as he is still in bis 19th year. We claim him as a Gisborne j troy* as Gisborne is bis birthplace. He is a son of Mr and Mrs £>,. J-. Dunlop. . Mr D. O. Yilley, late second officer of the Maura, has been appointed to the position of second officer'of the company’s turbine steamer Loongana, running between Melbourne and, Launceston.
