Tho lands wore suitable for j every class of settlor. There was tho I Pakowai estate for tho capitalist, tho Mangatu for men who wished to .go in for a large block; there was Mangaheia for dairying people, and Mahia Poninsula for the small farmer. The leaseholds could be obtained at a very low upset rental, and the terms of the freehold wore remarkably easy. Tho conditions of tho sale wero road.
