NAVY LEAGUE WELCOME.
((Fez: Press ’Association.) Wellington, last night. The admiral and officers of the warships attended a garden party this afternoon given by the ladies’ branch of the Navy League at Sir Joseph Ward’s residence. For this evening a oonoert at the Town Hall has been arranged by the League. A large number of blue jaokets and marines landed with a band from the flagship, and marched to the concert hall. A great crowd was awaiting admission, but the whole placo was wrapped in darkness owing to a breakdown in the electrie lighting apparatus. (Ciiero was a long wait nntil the defects had been restored. People were then admitted, and the admiral and escort having returned the concert proceeded.
