A Masonic ceremony, which was expected to be most imposing, also a performance of the Messiah by the Choral Society in St. Matthew’s new church, have been abandoned, ‘Bishop Neli'gan having intimated /that the first ceremony ‘in the unconsecraled church must bo performed, •by the Bishop.
MASTERTON, last night. In the S.M. 'Court Peter Jackson Was fined £5„ in default a month’s imprisonment, for having -liquor in his possession during the currency of a prohibition order.
G-REYMO.UTH, last night. , The brick sheds at the Brunner .Company’s mine, together with the whole of the machinery, were totally destroyed by lire this morning..
