In tho Flaxbourno case tho following witnesses havo given ovidence on behalf of the Minister for Lands :—Mr Jas. McKerrow, ex-ohairman of the Land Purchase Board; William Griflin, Government valuer for Hawkea’ Bay; Ernest Vouredon, s'heep farmer, Wairarapa; Ernest Kennedy, surveyor and valuer, Napier; A. Buokhurat, Crown land ranger for Marlborough. Tho evidence on behalf of tho Crown is to tho offect that is very suitable for cutting up into: sheep runs, but not fitted for close agricultural or dairying operations. The average of the valuations given by the Crown witnesses for the area being taken is £14,000, as against £28,000 on the other side.
