FLAXBOURNE ESTATE.

(Per Press Association.) Blenheim, last night. In the Flaxbourne ease to-day the evidence for olaimahts was concluded, and Mr Sim opened the case for the Crown. Hie address occupied two hours, and was listened to by the Minister for Bands and the Hon. C. H. Mills. Mr Sim traversed the negotiation between the Government and Sir Geo. Clifford for acquisition of the estate, and claimed that the facts showed that the rested with the Government rather than the owners. It was admitted that they purposely protracted negotiations to gain time. Counsel described the case for claimants as composed largely of spoon: lations as to future values of property. The valuations made by witnesses for the Crown would average £140,000, just half the average of the witnesses for claimants
