FITZGERALD’S CIRCUS.
I SEASON CLOSES TO NIGHT. Another large houße . greeted Fitzgerald Bros.' circus at Whataupoko last evening, when a capital programme was submitted. The ehow throughout was followed with the keenest of interest, and the various turns were most enthusiastically applauded. As on the opening night the performance of the Japanese wrestlers was a leading feature of the circus, and the hardy little fighters were most cordially received. The battoue leaping was an excellent item, the performance of Mr Frank Jones being specially worthy of praise. Miss Sybil Barroni was most successful in the juggling and balancing feats, whilst I Miss Ethel Ashton won fresh edmirers for her trapeze work and slack wire walking. Miss Ada Ashton’s two pony hurdle act oJioited considerable applause, as also did Mr Allan’s Kerr’s exhibition as 11 The Tramp Cyclist.” The pony Commodore proved as great a favorite B 3 ever, whilst the clowns were well up to tbeir work. Dr Gordon was in excellent form in his marvellous exhibition of feats of strength, and the high jumping at the olose was a pleasing'termination to a most successful show. This afternoon a matinee performance will bo given, and tho Gisborne season will be brought to a close this evening. At seven p.m. Dr Gordon will give a public performance in Peel-street, when ho will act aa a human swingle treo and draw a five-ton load from tho corner of Peel-street to the -Whatannoko bridge. - :
