KARAKA STOCK SALES,

j Messrs Williams and Kettle report that they held their first stock sale at Te I Karaka on Friday last. There was a big I gathering of buyers, and competition for I sheep was exceptionally brisk, there being I a splendid demand. Our entry comprised I 5600 sheep, and we sold the whole of them I under the hammer. The following were I the prices realised, and the buyers : I 210 small 2 and 4 tooth wethers 13s 3d, IMr Riddell (Motu); 260 small 2 tooth I ewes 12s 7d, Mrßußsoll (Matawhero) ; 186 I lambs 11s 4d, Mr Max Jackson; 154 I culled ewes 7s Id, Mr Russell (Matawhero) ; 200 culled lambs 5s 6d, Mr Russell; 287 fat ewes 14s 4d, Mr H. W. Cooper (freezing works); 500 4 and 5 year old ewes 13s sd, Mr W. Hutchinson ; 451 lambs 10s, Mr Max Jackson; 660 4 and 5 year old ewes 14s, Mr W. H. Cooper; 345 4 and 5 year old ewes 13s, Mr E. AEvans : 200 4 and 5 year old ewes 13s, Mr Telford ; 665 4 and 5 year old ewes 15s 3d, Mr C. Gordon (Opotiki); 148 culled ewes 7s, Mr G. J. White (Karaka); 9 Border

j Leicester 4 and 6 tooth rams L2 2s each, Mr A. M. Newman ; 25 cull old Lincoln rams 5s each, Mr C. Nnenan ; 3 Shropshire full-mouth rams 25s each, Mr A. E. ' Evans; 66 full-moqth e ve3 10s, Mr Russell (kfatawhero) ; 894 4 and 5 year old eyyos 14s sd, Mr Max Jackson; 103 lambs 10s 53, Mr Allan McLean. Cattle—Our entry comprised close on 500 head, but competition was dull, and cattle appeared to be dragging. We cleared about 100 head. Prices were as follows : Two year old heifers L 4, calvee L2 58 to L 3 Is, 3 year old heifers L 5, cows and calves L 5 10s to L 6.

Pigs—Porkerß brought 9s to 11s, and Weaners4s 6d to 5s 6d,
