Tho local branch of the Farmers’ Union has Bet up a committee to collect evidence to submit to the Land Commission when it visits this district, also taking steps to promote a Farmers’ Mutual Fire Insurance in Manawatu and surrounding districts. A stipulation is made that 41400 worth of insurance must be guaranteed before a fit-art is made. A committee was set up to establish a general produce exchange at Palmerston North under the auspices of the Union.
