He went tp Sydney on the understanding .that he would return to Melbourne, to consult the Government in reference to the future maI nagement of the Agency, hut sick- ' ness 'delaying him, he sailed from Sydney without visiting Melbourne. After Cabinet consideration of the matter, the Premier has written to Mr Tavener,, condemning liis hurried departure, and informing him that lie should have returned and ascertained the wishes of the Government, concluding : ■“ I cannot but regard.
