ALLEGED THEFT.

(Per Press Association.) Nelson, last night. Frank Johnston, who was manager of the Golden Blocks mine, West Wanganui, near Collingwood, was to-day charged with the theft of five bars of gold of the value of L 350, and also with attempting to sell the gold. After the hearing of the evidence for the prosecution accused reserved his defence, and was committed for trial, bail in two sureties of L2OO each and accused L4OO was granted.
