(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night. The syllabus of a new veterinary degree of study was laid before the Senate of the University this morning. It provides a four years’ course. Students muet take the preliminary medical examination in arts and scientific subjects associated, then the course proceeds to special subjects. The intermediate examination is biology, physios and chemistry : the first professional anatomy of domestic animals and physiology ; tbo second,, professional pathology, materia rnedica, stable management, manipulation of domesticated aDimale, principles and practice, veterinary surgery and medicine. The privilege of re-examination, as in medicine, is granted ct a further examination of first and second professionals. The course of dental degree before the Senate requires students to pass the medical preliminary examination and to have four years’ study for examinations, os in medicine. For the intermediate examination the subjects are physios and chemistry, taken together or separately. The first professional is anatomy, physiology, materia rnedica. and therapeutics ; the second professional, pathology, mental mechanics and metallurgy. No degree will be granted to any person under 21 years.
